We ask you come a half an hour earlier at 6pm for 6.30pm start on the dot so we can get more out of the night

The bedrock of this journey is the periphery between silence and sound. In this regard please wear clothing with natural fibres and bring blankets and mats that don’t make sound when you move.

As this is a lay down event please bring a mat and thin blanket and be prepared to stay inside for the full 90 minute journey.

Due to the power of the sound and need for silence there is also a 16+ age restriciton.

BRING your favourite mat and or blanket to Lay on during the meditation there will be no chairs used at all on this night

What is the Dream Drone?

The Dream Drone is a unique sound created by playing the didgeridoo in a special way. This ancient instrument has the capacity to produce the primordial sound of creation and the Dream Drone expresses this primal power to it’s full potential.

Unlike any other form of music, the sonorous sound of the Dream Drone is not restricted by frame works of structured rhythm and linear melody. Instead, it functions purely by virtue of spontaneous vibration moving freely through open space, transforming the breath and intent of the player into surging waves of sound that resonate throughout the room and saturate body and mind with its primordial pulse.

The sound of the Dream Drone holds the power to launch the listener on an inner journey of self discovery that is as unique and personal as each individual on earth. For some people, it’s a magical mystery tour of spirit; for others it’s a sensual sensory trip through the body; and some simply enjoy the exquisite experience of feeling the warm waves of sound and vibrant energy coursing through their systems.

The Dream Drone does not reflect the views of any particular religion or structured belief system. The only requirement to receive it’s gift is that the listener remains present to the sound and receptive to it’s power and follows wherever it leads. . . . . . . .

Si Mullumby After a mystical experience in India 1992, Si left his studies of Medicine at the University of Western Australia and dedicated his life to playing didgeridoo. He realized from this experience that this instrument was a complete spiritual tool incorporating rhythmic breathing, meditation on the AUM, music and the ability to express emotion and feelings through the voice. Not only is it a tool for personal evolution but he also knew that the sound would transmit the experience of the didgeridoo player to all those who are listening.

Si learned as he hitchhiked around Australia for two years, living deep in the outback for long periods of time by himself, he found his own way with this ancient instrument. From then till now Si has toured internationally many times with his dance band Wild Marmalade. Their unique fiery blend of rhythmic didgeridoo and drums has captivated audiences globally. Si has developed unique techniques and breathing patterns and has taught many workshops throughout Europe, Japan, America and Australia.

The Dream Drone sees the next chapter of this story come into being. Quietly since the beginning of his time playing didgeridoo Si has been exploring and developing the therapeutic and consciousness evolving aspect of this instrument. The Dream Drone is the maturation of this process and a return to essence of sound.

Jon Worsley took a new material developed by a Austrian scientist and adapted it to create a whole new generation of yidaki (traditional name for didgeridoo) here in it’s homeland in Australia. This new material, composed entirely of hemp fiber, is denser than the hardest hardwood and can reach frequencies and resonate with energies that lie beyond the capacity of traditional instruments of wood.

To this new material Jon adds ochre clay, which like all clays has unique energetic properties that allow it to vibrate at very fine frequencies, which greatly enhances the range of resonance and pitch in the yidakis he makes.

Jon’s hemp and ochre instruments represent a new direction in the long evolution of this ancient icon of indigenous culture in Australia, so it seems appropriate to coin a new name that distinguishes the new hemp and ochre yidaki from the traditional model of wood, while still retaining a close link to its ancient heritage.

YiDaChi is the word yidaki translated into Chinese ideograms. Yi means “intent” or “idea,” Da means “big” or “great,” and Chi means “energy” or “breath.” This really describes it better than any other language on Earth: “The instrument that expresses an intent or idea with a big breath that generates great energy.”
